queens vet center, SPRING 2026
Double Vision
“There are always two sides to a story. In this case, our veterans turned their lenses inward and outward. This spring brought out the much-needed sun and inspired them to venture outside. As they worked with their cameras, they were also introduced to iconic photographers who have built projects throughout their lives.
Inspired by those who paved the way, the veterans hit the streets, photographing their community in Queens. Surrounded by blue-collar workers in metal, steel, and mechanics the group found beauty in hard work and the imprint it leaves behind.
Now turning the cameras on themselves, the veterans took a thoughtful approach, delving into into why they are making these photos. To capture is one thing, but to make an image is another. Please enjoy the process of thought through these photographs.”
