The Josephine Herrick Project is a small 501(c)3 non-profit which uses photography as a tool to build creativity, self confidence, community engagement, advocacy, and awareness-raising with people disadvantaged as a result of poverty, prejudice and/or discrimination.

We put high quality digital cameras in the hands of those who are often in front of the lens or do not get the opportunity to express themselves creatively, supporting them to see differently, giving them the chance to tell their story, and to present their vision to the world through our public exhibitions and online.

Last Year, 89% of our income was spent on our projects. We receive grants and contributions from government, foundations and corporations, and we earn over 10% of our income, we rely on individual donors for the success of our work.
